THE NAMANGAN HOSTED FOR THE WORLD “BELBOGLI KURASH”
CHAMPIONSHIP

The highly organized championships such as, the world championship
for the prize of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on November of last
year in Jizzakh and in May of this year in Kokand among young people,
organized by the initiative of World “Belbogli Kurash” Association (the
president of WBKA Aziz Abdukhalilovich G'aniev) indicates that belt
wrestling is becoming popular around the world. Besides that, the organizing
such world championships in our Republic makes increasing the interest of
young generation into “Belbogli Kurash” (presently, the sportsmen are more
than 36.000), also it makes to widely developing the tourism.
The introduction of our national sport into the family of Asian Games,
European Games, and Olympic Games is considered one of the main goals
of the World “Belbogli Kurash” Association (WBKA) and the Uzbekistan
“Belbogli Kurash” Federation. For this reason, the WBKA and UzBKF
cooperatively working on long-term programs. One of the proofs of this, we
can mention the world championship on “Belbogli Kurash” between men and
women held for the first time in the city of Namangan, Namangan region, for
the prize of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on September 8-11
this year.
More than 300 sportsmen participated in present world championship,
which is held in the sport complex of “Barkamol Avlod” in Namangan city,
from the countries such as, Georgia, Belarus, Belgium, Iran, Israel, Russia,
Romania, Ukraine, Pakistan, China, Italy, Turkey, Cameroon, Sweden,
Moldova, India, Mongolia, Latvia, Estonia and Kazakhstan.
This championship organized in high level by the initiatives of ministries
and organizations such as The Ministry of Sports Development of the
Republic of Uzbekistan, World “Belbogli Kurash” association (WBKA), The
administration of Namangan, Prosecutor's office of Namangan, National
Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, Main Department of Sports Development
of Namangan Region, “Belbogli Kurash” Federation of Uzbekistan.
Firstly, It was organized the official opening ceremony of the
competition and governor of Namangan region, member of the Senate “Oliy
Majlis” Shavkat Abdurazzakov and the president of the World “Belbogli
Kurash” Association Azizbek Ganiev mentioned about created necessary
conditions for the population to regularly engage in sports in our country, and
for the popularization of physical education and sports, also was noted that
a complex system of training talented, professional athletes has been
established and wished the participants of the competition good luck.
Umidjon Sulaimanov, the deputy chairman of the Political Council of
"Adolat" Social democratic party, participated in the opening ceremony and
wished success to the athletes. He presented the "Adolat" badge to the
President of the World “Belbogli Kurash” Association, Azizbek G'aniev, for
his contribution to increasing the legal activity of citizens and the
development of “Belbogli Kurash” as an activist of "Adolat" Social
Democratic Party. The present opening ceremony continued with songs of
famous singers. Especially, the songs performed by artists invited from the
country of Cuba gave the participants even more excitement.
Within the framework of the championship, a memorandum was signed
between Namangan region governor Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov and Ruslan
Khabibov, Minister of Sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Based on the agreement of the two sides, they agreed on the
establishment of mutually beneficial programs, experience and information
exchange between state organizations, educational institutions, federations
and other sports structures in the fields of public sports, disabled sports, elite
sports and training of personnel in sports.
During the World Championship, the athletes competed for the victory
in weights categories such as men's freestyle wrestling and “Belbogli
Kurash”, -57, -62, -68, -75, -82, -90, -100, +100 kg., women -52, -58, -66, -
76, +76 kg. Now we have a chance to introduce with the winners and prizewinners
of the first day of the world championship in “Belbogli Kurash”.

According to the final results, the national team of Uzbekistan won the
proudly first place, having collected the most medals. The teams of Russia
and Kazakhstan were considered worthy of the second and third places
At the end of the competitions, it was organized an awarding
ceremony. The President of the World “Belbogli Kurash” Association Azizbek
Abdukhalilovich G'aniev, Chairman of the Asian “Belbogli Kurash”
Confederation Momin Muratov, Chairman of the Uzbekistan “Belbogli
Kurash” Federation Ravshan Dastirov and others participated in the
awarding ceremony. Athletes who took the first place in each weight category
in “Belbogli Kurash” were awarded with 10,000,000 UZS, second place
athletes with 7,000,000 UZS, and third place wrestlers with 5,000,000 UZS,
as well as diplomas and medals.
